My boss likes to tell this story.

My dad was the foreman on a project laying brick, and his brother was working for him. At the end of one day his brother comes up to him and says "Hey, I laid 800 brick today!" My day told him, "If you hadn't stopped to count them you could have laid 820."

Don't waste time looking at what you did. Move ahead and let others be amazed.

I really regret that my boss is going to retire. Not so much that I have to find a new job, just that he's a good guy to learn from.
