Yosemite Bowline is a knott, presumably made popular or developed by climbers in the park. Yosemite is one of the greatest climbing areas in the world. The knott is good for lead climbing on routes where you can expect several hard falls. Unlike the figure of eight, the yosemite bowline will not tighten down on itself when a hard load is applied.

So in other news, it's basketball season? Wow, how did my home town team, the Trail Blasers do? Get stomped again?
