Excuse me for not being exact, that's why it's called exageration. Thought if the government could do it, I could as well to a lesser extent.

    http://costofwar.com/index.html

U.S. direct spending on the war in Iraq already has surpassed the upper bound of Lindsey's upper bound, and most economists attribute billions more in indirect costs to the war effort. Even if the U.S. exits Iraq within another three years, total direct and indirect costs to U.S. taxpayers will likely by more than $400 billion, and one estimate puts the total economic impact at up to $2 trillion.

The most current estimates of the war's cost generally start with figures from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, which as of January 2006 counted $323 billion in expenditures for the war on terrorism, including military action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Just this week the House approved another $68 billion for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, which would bring the total allocated to date to about $400 billion. The Pentagon is spending about $6 billion a month on the war in Iraq, or about $200 million a day, according to the CBO. That is about the same as the gross domestic product of Nigeria.

Even at $400 billion, with 1 in 5 being considered in poverty in America, an additional $6,700 per person a year would help any one. Seeing as that number will grow regardless, that's more money per year that should be going to the American interests, not some sandbox.

Yeah, so what if he wasn't as cool as JFK, banging Marilyn on the desk in the oval office. He got his regardless.

Oh, and it cracks me up that we'd impeach a president for perjury about getting blown, but we won't impeach a president who's running up the national debt and screwing this country over. Unreal.

I love this country. I can't complain about my hot shower every day, more food than I can eat (BH is helping!), safe to sleep at night, a new car, fun job, freedom to go to the bookstore and purchase either porn or the bible, koran, torah. I love being able to say "Our president is an idiot' without being kidnapped and imprisoned, possibly tortured and killed. I love being able to work hard and to enjoy the fruits of my efforts in whatever past time I wish. I love to be able to take vacations, to go to disney world. I love seeing technology from 1920 and realizing how far we've come. I love fast food, cable TV, car races and the fitness industry. I love to be able to see movies on a big screen and visit museums to see worldly knowledge. I love how we have the freedom to do whatever we want, and to change whatever is wrong. I love how I can complain but not make an effort to fix it. I love how I can go to worship Jesus, Buddha, Allah, Zues or Ra, and not be persecuted. I love this country and I would never take it for granted. Hey it's not perfect but it's what we made it.

Patriotism is love for your country, NOT for your government.

Lets say we build new houses for each of those people in poverty/homeless. Well now whose going to be maintain it, whose going to pay utilities (Which are going to go up due to a bigger house), whose going to pay the increases property tax, the list goes on. But on average if you were to build a house for a homeless person or a person in absolute poverty the structure is not going to last that long.

Plus all of that doesnt addresses the fact that more children are in poverty than parents because the parents take all the money for themselves, unless were going to start writing checks to toddlers you couldn't ever cure poverty.

Take some social science classes and tell me you think we can still cure poverty, we also spent more on the Korean War which was more of a shitbox country

Do you even know what impeachment is for? Also compare the National Debt of the GDP and it really hasnt run up that much. Turn off CNN please.

Now what were you saying? My gf is a Political Science major and we talk about this stuff all the time. Now dont get me wrong I hate Bush, but its more of the liberties that he keeps taking away (Which you havent mentioned once....) than hes spending since his spending isnt that bad.
