my unresearched and biased opinion on the topic;
AM workouts -- raises metabolism throughout the day, provides energy throughout the day
PM workouts -- helps put you too sleep [could also hinder if stimulants used, and/or not spread out enough], provides an increased metabolic rate during your sleep
