Its going to be a gift, she wants it relatively small. I seen a nice cybershot for 150ish, not sure if thats the way to go.

why the hell not? If they question if it was used, you just say this in a stern voice " I wanted to make sure it would work for you, so I tested it myself once. " Don't allow them room to respond, make it a one sided convo, with your side being the one. 99% of the time, it works everytime
