I'm sure that there are nice places in China, but the cities were very dirty (and obviously crowded) in my experience (compared to Japan for example). Also, we eventually got tired of seeing 20 camera shops in a row all the time... so not much variety.

great over the long-term, but you need to pick the right ones. look at american history, overall we did amazing, but think of how many public companies went bely up in the 1800's and 1900's. there are so many car companies and railroad companies that never made it.
