um yea controlledlabs is right, earth does go through this cycle of warm periods and ice ages. one cycle is like 300,000-600,000 years. theres a name for this cycle but i really can't remember. learned it in ecology class in high school. we should be in an ice age right now actually, we're someing like 300,000 years overdue for one.

however, before the ozone deterioates, we still have even a greater problem of when the magnetic poles flip. we'll be without a magenetic field and the sun will kill us all. yup.

The thing about the market as I understand it (correct me if I'm wrong) is that everything is relative. If the market goes down, then everyones stocks go down, and then things will cost less due to the market ...

I have a 401k invested in things like Pepsi, Google, Microsoft, Ford Motors, etc ...

somewhat if you own large stocks or mutual funds. but individual stocks vary a lot. you must have gotten killed on ford?

I'm not sure, i divide my money up into 2 groups, each group has about 10 businesses under it. the first group has like Ford, Microsoft, Mobile Oil, etc. And the second group has 10 newer companies, like Google, Apple, some others. The idea is they will steadily increase over time, and the companies are well enough established so your not taking any (big) risks

Only well thought out and more importantly critiqued and reviewed information that is valid can b e published in journals/databases etc.

in my opinion, when discussing topics related to science, use scientific evidence.
