Multiple streams of income

Seeing how Citigroup will axe 17,000 jobs, plus an additional 9,500 planned cuts, is a reality check for me. It makes me realize that I can get laid off from my job tomorrow. It's crucial to invest or own your own business these days. Especially when most people don't have more than two months worth of income saved.

I'm already involved with a network marketing company, which is the best decision I've ever made, but it makes me want to work harder so I won't have to worry about the next recession coming. Having income from different sources is the way to go. Then I can enjoy financial freedom, not have to worry about getting fired, or working for someone else. Travelling is something I'm looking forward to.

Anyone feel the same way?

Job security is a big issue these days. Yes, I am only 19, but I did learn from the wise, becuase my parents have been in those situations many times.. and for quite a while without jobs. What they do (and what I do) is play in the stock market and invest safely. find some stocks that have a steady, recognizable correlation in their stocks. Buy when the price is low, sell when the price is high. Its whats getting my lazy ass through university without having to work at all. But I do work at a sporting goods store just for the discounts. Gotta love under armor

Def. I may hope to become the head of athletics after obtaining my masters, and work toward a Ph.D. at that university, than become a professor afterward. (who knows?)

all the while, I could still function independatanly as an acting sport&exercise psychologist.

though if i were a professor i believe i could only work 20hours a week outside of teaching for the location Im at (at least thats how my undergrad profs work).
