        Eat a Solid meal 1-2 hours Pre-workout.
Drink a Protein Shake w/ some easily digestable Carbs 30-45mins Pre-workout.
This is what I have been doing recently and seems to help my energy levels.

        If I workout Before Lunch:
Breakfast 1-2 hours Pre-Workout: 3/4 cup Oats + 3/4 cup Lactaid Fat Free Milk + 3/4-1 cup Fresh Strawberries

        Protein Shake 30-45mins Pre-workout: 1 scoop Whey + 1 cup Lactaid Fat Free Milk + 1 tsp PB + 1 Multi-Grain Rice Cake.

If I workout 1st thing in the morning:
Protein Shake 30-45mins Pre-workout: 1 scoop Whey + 1 cup Lactaid Fat Free Milk + 1/2-1 cup Strawberries + 3-4 Ice Cubes. Blend together in blender and enjoy.

I just started doing this plan this week and I notice a difference.
You may want to read this article where I got this idea from: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=272067

Of course, if the above don't help you, you can always add White Flood 15-30mins Pre-workout or Glycergrow after your meals.
