    I understand that creatine causes water retention. Is that incorrect? If it does cause water retention how would it be suitable for weight loss.

    creatine increases musle growth and recovery, which correlates to increases in muscle mass, which causes an increased metabolic rate, which increases the amount of daily caloric expenditure which expedites fat loss (assuming caloric intake meets a deficiet when compared to caloric expenditure)
