  • Traps, Delts and Calves this evening... Pushing and pulling, drop sets, heavy weight and I walked out fulfilled... That feeling when you can barley turn your head cuz your shoulders are all pumped up... Priceless!
    I love my time in the gym as it's a chance for me to "get away" and have some much needed "me" time... It's my drug... Some people are addicted to caffeine, some cocaine, I'm addicted to the gym... I guess it could be worse!

    • Wow! Another amazing weekend and it went by so quickly! First I was to congratulate everyone that participated in the first ever NPC Idaho Cup. I thought the show ran very smoothly and that the judging was scored fairly. Very close competition all the way around.

      I got in some good lifts this weekend as was clearly fueled by the great physiques that I saw this weekend. It seems that the competitors keep getting better and better. Certainly gives me a perspective on where I need to be in order to continue to have success in bodybuilding.

      I trained legs today and it was most certainly one of the better legs days I've had in some time. Once again, focusing all of the things I hear from those the doubt my ability to make them progress... We all have strengths and we all have weaknesses. To me, it's all about honing in on these weaknesses, creating a plan to overcome these weaknesses and eventually make them your strengths... People think I'm crazy when I say that I will eventually win shows because of my wheels... People also thought I was crazy when I said I would eventually compete in bodybuilding and win... I know what I need to do and I am going to continue to proving people wrong... You can have your doubts, but in the end, I promise I will be saying "I told you so"...

      • Tuesday night and the gym was packed! I still managed to navigate through the gym, making the most of my chest and bicep training. I even managed to get a great session on my abs. At the end of my workout, I hit the bike for 10 minutes as I did one minute intervals, cranking the resistance up to 20. My legs were feeling like jello when it was all over. All in all, another great workout! It was awesome when I was asked how I was feeling today, I responded "I feel great! Nothing is hurting me, my energy levels are high and my level of motivation is spot on." I really can't complain. Photo shoot this Saturday, but not before I continue laying a beat down on the body this week!

        • Delts and Traps this evening... Boom! I smashed through my workout tonight and got it done ahead of schedule... Great pump, great strength, no pain in the joints and life is good! I'm really looking forward to the shoot this weekend and I think that everything's gonna be popping!
          I received a great compliment this evening from a guy that I had never met until tonight. He said he has been witnessing my progression over the last 3 years and that he was inspired by me. It really made me feel great! Moments like that make this all worth while!

          • Thursday night... Back and Triceps with some Abs... This was my last training session before my shoot and I think I'm ready as I'll ever be... It's hard preparing for something like this when it's not April and I'm not getting ready to get on stage... If I'm not 4% I feel fat.. LOL... I'm holding steady right around 8% right now which will hopefully be appealing to the camera... I really had a great workout this evening and even hit a couple PR's so I'm not complaining... Whether it's a photo shoot, a bodybuilding competition, or just life! It's all about giving 110% every day! Stay on that grind!!

            • I started Y3T Training this evening... What better way to start then with legs?! Completely different look than what I've been doing and I felt it... Heavy weights with very little rest... I was sweating and hurting, but I powered through it... I don't fuck around on leg day... Champions are made in the off season and I don't have time to waste... Wheels are gonna look great this season... I am very satisfied with how they're coming along.... Times like these I wish I had a hot tub... Brought the pain tonight!

              • Chest and Triceps this evening... This new trainer requires me to make the most of the sets that I'm doing as there aren't quite as many... Although I know this will change in weeks to come... Nonetheless, I still killed it! I know this new split is going to really be good to my triceps, an area that I consider a weakness of mine... It's nice lifting heavy weights again.. I manhandles the hundos on incline this evening like it was nothing... next week, maybe 110's or 120's... we'll just have to see... Tomorrow is an off day, much needed, this old man's body is pretty beat up!
                Everyday counts when it comes to training! Always remember to give it everything you've got... These are the days that you'll look back on when you're on stage wondering you what you could have done to better prepare yourself... Make now count!!

                • Back and Biceps tonight! Almost done with week one of Y3T and I'm liking it.. It's very demanding and I know that it's only going to get worse... I was able to go very heavy and once again no joint pain.. Loving it!

                  • Yesterday was a lights out leg day where I faced nearly throwing up several times.. but luckily I held it all in! Ended up thrashing the wheels.. Squats, deads, curls, extensions, the whole smear! Today has come with its challenges as the day after a good leg day is always ugly.. But I went back into the building for Chest and Triceps... Another great session.. I have finally planned out my competitions for the 2014 season and that always gives me a new sense of motivation... I was tired today, but given the newly acquired deadline, I became instantly focused and motivated... I'm not in this for 2nd place... I play to win! If I lose, I figure out what I did wrong and instantly get back to the drawing board and make improvements to make myself better... I make sure that my ethic is second to none... If you aren't first, you're last!

                    • Back and biceps tonight.. Went a bit higher volume this evening and I surprisingly was able to still toss around some pretty heavy weight... I have never done rack pulls until I discovered them doing this trainer and I'm learning to like them! I'm really hoping they help the development of my Christmas Tree... Time will tell... I'm looking forward to a much needed rest day tomorrow and then starting Turkey day off right back in the gym before the festivities... Weights, Turkey, Football and an afternoon nap! What more can you ask for?!

                      • I hope everyones kick off to the holidays has been good! Between Thanksgiving, Black Friday and all the football today, it has been nuts! Don't think for a second that I've let up off the gas however. I have been still getting in some great workouts! I'm still following the Y3T training, but I'm feeling a bit untested... I usually am sore for a couple of days after my training sessions, but I feel that there is almost too much rest time.. Don't get me wrong, I will be the first to say that the muscles need time to recover, but this is almost a little too much..

                        With that I have been incorporating some extra lifts out of my own playbook. Thursday I hit Shoulders before my Thanksgiving feast, Back / Calves late Friday night and then Chest with a light dusting on the Arms today.... I'll be ending out the week tomorrow with a thrashing on the legs! I guess I'll call it Y3DTC....

                        • After taking yesterday off, I returned to the gym for what turned into an unbelievable leg workout! Just when I was starting to doubt the Y3T training, this leg day kicked my ass all over the gym... Without a doubt one of the best I've had in some time. You can check my bodyspace to see the exercises and reps that I did... It was down right brutal... Thank you Neil Hill for the ass whoopin!

                          I will always bring 110% into the gym and although we all have our own goal and aspirations in the gym, I will always pride myself on being a natural athlete and I truly feel for those who feel that they can't get there on their own... I truly enjoy looking good, but even more so, I enjoy knowing that I'm healthy and that I'm giving my body what it needs every day.. Not pumping a bunch of shit into it that will eventually come back to haunt me later in life... My ultimate goal is to show everyone that a natural athlete can lock horns with those that are on the gear and still be successful... I am to come through on this goal ten fold... Patience is often disregarded in this industry and I will prove that with patience, hard work and the desire to never give up until I get it right, anything can happen...

                          • Tonight was Back and Biceps... Week 3 of the Y3T and it's now consisting of higher volume, triple drop sets and super sets... In english, it's making me extremely uncomfortable and you know what? I like it! when I got finished with my last set of curls I was a mess, but I didn't allow myself until I did 100 full extension calf raises on the seated calf raise. That's going to be my new tradition... The WILL grow into beautiful calves! I'm tall, so my ankles will remain small and I have high calf development... that can only mean one thing.. they're gonna look nice!

                              • Sunday... Yes, lots of football, but still gotta find that time for the iron... Champions aren't made by sitting on the couch all day...
                                I had legs today and I was low volume, heavy weights... I didn't think I would have a great workout today, but I was able to rally the troops, dig deep and get it done! I have had pain in my knee all week but surprisingly had very little... I was on point today! Today was the most important day of the week for me... Leg Day!
