Today's workout was really good! Hamstrings, Calves and Abs... Pre Exhausted with Alternate Leg Curls, then straight to Dead Lifts.. With the stage in sight, we're going heavy all the way up there... Going heavy and intense is what built this physique and I'm not letting up... Right now I'm full, cut and dammit I feel good!! Seated Leg curls and Adductor's followed.. Destruction on the calves as usual (they'll grow one of these days) and then absolute terror on my Abs... By the time I was finished I felt like I got a right and left to the mid section from Mike Tyson... I walked out of the place knowing that my workout was earned! I'm sore and I love it!

Hit up the Park Center Axiom for a great leg session, followed by some posing... Simply fine tuning a few things and just maintaining this look... I had the pleasure of posing in the company of some fellow competitors that are hitting the stage for the first time and they are proof of how competitive the sport is becoming... One figure, one physique and they are both locked in! If I were a first timer I would be shaking in my shoes... It's going to be a great upcoming competition season..

Today's workout was LEGIT!! Smashed the Traps and Delts!! Strength is still hanging around even in-spite of the rigorous dieting... Great sets and supersets today... I didn't stick around and pose today as my stomach was very much in need of a meal... I was pretty hammered after my session... I have a feeling it's going to hurt to turn my head tomorrow... Job well done!!

Back on the Pain Train today with a brutal Hamstring, Calf and Ab workout... I was hungry all day today, so I actually incorporated an extra meal today and my body loved the extra carbs! By the time I got to the gym, everything was popping! Love seeing new veins and new cuts come out... Motivating!!
Heavy deads, Alternate Leg curls on both the lay down and the hammer strength... Adductor Machine, and ended with Seated Leg curl... Mean drop set with calf raises on the Leg Press and then the Donkey Calf Raise... Then an absolute country thrashing on the Abs!! Windshields, Cable crunches and upside downs... I was sweating my a$$ off after all of that.. I was in quite a bit of pain and wouldn't have changed it for the world! Abs are coming in something MEAN!!! Going into a much needed rest day tomorrow...sigpicDarren Conroy

The always needed Thursday rest day.. For as much of a roll I've been on with my training and as much as I would love to go throw some weights around, I have to be smart and just concentrate on meals and recovery on the rest days... Remember, it's not always about what you do in the gym.. What you do out of the gym is equally if not more important! If you go to the gym and get a great workout in and then head out for drinks, you're pissing in the wind... If you want to make gains, you have have to respect your body in and out of the gym...sigpicDarren Conroy

Tonights workout was fantastic! Love grinding it out and just simply bringing the pain!! Brings some sort of euphoria over me that is irreplaceable... Some are addicted to heroin, I'm addicted to the pain of pushing around the weights, sweating my ass off, gritting my teeth and pushing my body to its limits! You can have your drugs, drinks and parties... I have everything I need in the gym... And I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I think my addiction is going to make me look and feel a hell of a lot better than yours!sigpicDarren Conroy

Got into the gym for a smashing arm day! The pump was great! No elbow pain and once the white flood kicked in, it was mine for the taking.. In spite of having a show soon, I still went pretty heavy as I'm approaching this show with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality... I didn't hold anything back.. I also did 45 minutes of posing after my lift and managed to tweak my front lat spread to my liking this go round... I really don't have any poses that I'm uncomfortable with... I have never been this confident going into a bodybuilding show... Soon enough!sigpicDarren Conroy

Great training session today.. Not too crazy on the old hamstrings as I don't want too much fatigue going into this weekend.. I did however massacre my abs... One last blast before I get to present them in front of a packed house... I can't lie, my patience is wearing thin... I want to get up there and get this party started!

This evening's workout was a bit different than the usual torture session as I'm roughly 36 hours from the stage.. I didn't want to stress my body too much.. One of the only times I have to not give 110% in the gym.. A very different approach than what I"m used to... It was a pretty wild weekend for me.. I didn't win my first show of the year and it was indeed a bit controversial... In the end, what's done is done and I can't do a damn thing about the it.. Sure I could pick it apart, go back, watch tape from prejudging and look a photos taken which simply twist the dagger even more.. not to mention that it won't change the outcome... All I can do at this point is learn from this, embrace it for whatever it's worth, look for silver lining and NOT let it destroy my confidence... Haha.. What am I saying, it's going to take a lot more than poor judging in a local bodybuilding show to get my confidence down... If and when I get upset, it's because I hold myself to such high standards... Ultimately I have all of you to thank for all the support and I will keep coming back stronger because quitting is for the weak!!
I have received a ton of emails and I thank you all for the support and reassurance that I still got it up there! For those of you that are now hesitant to compete because of a situation like this, please don't lose that fire as these incidents are few and far between.. All I can say is do your homework and make sure you enter a show that has a great reputation... Talk to people, get the skinny of the panel of judges, don't set yourself up for disappointment.. I was warned and I disregarded all of the warnings, thinking I could overcome it... Please don't let a poor judging panel ruin your dreams and aspirations... Today I was very tired and very sore from yesterday's beat down I put on the wheels... Nonetheless, I rallied back and rounded up some leftover motivation from this weekend's events to fuel another great workout... I trained chest and delts, starting out with some great compound lifts and then moving on to super sets and some isolation work.. My strength was really good today and managed to get a great pump.. I haven't lost any size or cuts from the weekend, which is good as I'm hoping to coming in popping just as good as I was in the last show... I know that my competition is going to be stiffer than last weekend, with that I need to erase the mental block and prepare myself for victory... Going back and looking at my posing in the prejudging, I've come to realize that I wouldn't have changed a thing going to the next show... I'm prepped, confident and ready to win!sigpicDarren Conroy
