I've been doing a different style of lifting lately - sort of getting away from the 5x5 and taking a break from heavy weight. I'm doing controlled, slow reps to really target and isolate the muscle I'm working.
I was very tired last night (slept for 14 hours) but I got in a great, short chest workout. I'm sore today, even though I did only one exercise. I did slow, controlled reps and targeted my upper chest. It definately worked!!!
Today I'll be hitting back and arms with the same style: light weight, slower reps. I can't wait.

Day 66 Thursday (Back and Arms)

Thoughts
Again, doing the whole lighter weight + higher reps. I've been getting a better pump, obviously. I've been also more sore the day after. Possibly increased TUT = lactic acid??? It's been going good though. A little tricky on the ego to use lighter weight, and a little tricky to use slower motions instead of throwing the weight around. It's a good change and one that needed to be done to activate more growth. Rest follows until Monday.

When you hit another plateau, and you switch back to something like 5x5 you will again see impressive gains. It's all about variety (capt obvious yadda yadda etc.. etc..)
Nice adjustments though... workouts sure look short though ?

Workouts are kinda short indeed. I'm trying to 'spend less time in the gym, more time in the kitchen'. Honestly they last about an hour, especially these new sets which I do slowly and higher reps. I also work two big muscle groups at the beginning of the week on the same day, which kinda tires me out for the rest of the week.
All in all I'm looking forward to the next couple months.

I'm surprised I'm not sore today (Tuesday), as far as my legs go. I think the PW might've really helped (I had 3 scoops yesterday - pre, during, post).
Threw in shoulders to activate mass...I find slow controlled high reps for shoulders works wonders. Try it!

Just wanted to let everyone know that this log is finished.
With a gain of almost 7lbs in 75 days, I couldn't be happier. However, my training has plateaued and reached a stagnant point. This is natural, of course. I beleive time off is the cure to rejuvination, re-evaluation, and re-education.
Rather than carrying this log on with half ass posts, I will now seclude myself in a room with literature and a notebook for the next 2-3 weeks and plan what needs to be done. I will be reevaluating my training and diet; seeing how my supplementation is right on, that will not change. I am ending the log here, so I can focus on creating a schedule for myself and starting a new log.
My training has been consistent and yet inconsistent at the same time. This needs to be replaced with a strict schedule.
I will most likely be focusing on full body workouts when I return, with compound heavy movements.
I have been very happy with Controlled Labs products, specifically my stack of GM + PW. I will continue to use this stack when I come back (and come back with a bang I WILL). The gains and everything surrounding these supplements have been amazing. It has been a very positive experience.
Thank you Controlled Labs for being in my corner through my training and continuing to support me and my workouts.
