Yeah like Force said, mess with the water/PI ratio. Personally, I will do 1 scoop PI/1 scoop PW in 24oz -- and I think it's great. PI alone works for me in about 20oz.

it sounds like a copout, but try different water ratios. i thought it was awful in the beginning as well. for me, less water was better. once, i got a mixture i liked, the taste grew on me until i absolutely loved it. i'm not making this shit up, man. if i thought it still tasted like ass, i'd say so. try 2 scoops in 20 oz. water.
