  • Back at it.. Sunday was Chest and Back for me... Fueled by some old familiar faces... Fools that never thought I could make it in Bodybuilding... Don't get me wrong, I know my place and there are still so many out there that are far superior, but I'm going to keep chipping away little by little.... I have had success thus far... A couple of let downs, but that's the sport and I can only go up there and do my best... Ended up having one of the best training days in weeks... I wish every day was like today, but I guess you have to have the average days to appreciate the great ones...

    • Tuesday... New week, new me! Physically and mentally prepared to tackle another leg day! Lifts were good.. Strength, pump, all of the above.. Cuts are coming in just the way I was hoping they would... The diet toys with my head from time to time, but really hasn't plagued me that much... I feel good and my lifts have been on point... Arms tomorrow!

      • Happy Friday fitness world! I tossed some new weights around at the new Axiom in Meridian... It is a great, state of the art facility.. I was very impressed.. Once I acquainted myself, I quickly went to thrashing my shoulders, another weak area of mine... I ended up getting a great workout in and almost didn't want to live considering the new "playground" that this kid had discovered...
        All was fun, but it's still pre-contest training and that is the most crucial training... no prisoners!

        • As I live vicariously through everyone that is at the Arnold Classic, I can't ignore that fact that there is still lots of work that I have to do... I'm grateful the Bodybuilding.com live stream, but I would enjoy going to see it live one day...
          The show must go on... I have to stay on track with my own training and not get distracted.. I trained Quads, Calves and Abs today.. Another great session with a some posing that followed... The pain in my left knee is now very minimal, but I still wear a brace just as a precautionary... I am pleased with the way my legs are looking and I feel that they will show very well this year... I will keep smashing the wheels all the way up to showtime.. I know that there are going to be some great physiques in the heavyweight class this year.. Gonna have to bring the A Game!

          • Sunday Funday... The only way I know how... Chest and Back! One of those days where I just beat the hell out of the weights... Crunch Time!! Every day, set, rep, meal, posing session and 8 hours of sleep COUNT! Today's training session made me feel so very grateful for my ability to train everyday.. I know that a day will come when I won't be able to do these things, that said, I'm going to make the most of this wonderful opportunity... I can't wait to showcase it this spring.... I hope you all will be tuning in!

            • Today's leg workout was outstanding! Another PR on Deadlifts... I'm shocked that my lifts are going up even with my contest prep dieting... I'm not going to question, I feel good and as of late, my training has been at an all time high... I'm no Jesse Norris, but all in all it was a good day!
              The same amount of warfare on the calves and abs as usual and my abs are looking better every day... Sorry, no selfies from this kid, we'll just have to wait and see how they look under the lights... I'm tired and sore as hell... Life is good!

              • Wednesday... Hump Day.. Pump Day!! Biceps & Triceps.... Today was filled with heavy weights, quick sets and some grunting here and there... I only do it when I absolutely have to... lol... I ended up getting 3 sets of 115 on standing ez bar curls which was another personal record... the last set took me a bit, but I concentrated on keeping good form instead to swinging everywhere.. The pump I had was great! I wanted to save some time for posing, but had to scurry off the the chiropractor for a much needed adjustment... I have been very hard on my body lately... to me it's crucial that I ensure that everything supporting my muscles is healthy... It's a lifestyle ladies and gentlemen... and it's never too late to start!

                • As the weekend comes to a close, I was able to get through some pretty good lifts... Shoulders Friday, Wheels Saturday and a crushing Chest & Back day today... I struggled a bit with the hundo's on the incline press today, my frustrations after that lift made for a great session as I went up on all my lifts from previous weeks...
                  I guess that's the beauty of this sport... It requires so much mental toughness, persistence, consistency, focus and most of all understanding... Understanding of ups and downs, highs and lows, setbacks and understanding what's required to be successful... This sport is unlike other sports... It requires you to dig deep and make sacrifices... Dip a little bit of your heart and soul into it... At the end of it all, I'll say this... There's no better feeling than being out under those lights... Being under the lights is amazing, winning under the lights is unforgettable!

                  • Back on the grind with Hammy's, Calves and Abs... I'm really liking the way things are starting to look... The 100K Challenge and the bodybuilding shows that I"m competing in will hopefully treat me well... I have high hopes, we'll see what happens!
                    My lifts weren't quite as strong as they have been, but I was jumping back into my sets a little faster in an attempt to get a bit more of a sweat going... At the end of the day, I chalked this one up as a 9 out of 10... Tomorrow, arms and posing... Doing work!!

                    • Another day on the grind.... Biceps and Triceps.... Great day, great pump and damn I was strong today! These are the days that make it all worth while... I really thank God that I'm able to do this every day... I was able to rock out 125 on the standing curl followed by a an awesome dropset on the ol close grip...
                      Calves, Abs tomorrow and then I'm going to hit some cardio and posing... This is the regular season and I'm preparing for the playoffs!

                      • I hope everyone had a great weekend and thanks again to everyone that stopped by the Bodybuilding.com Nutrition Store on Saturday for the store giveaway. I was amazed with how many people piled in there.
                        Even with all the weekend's craziness, I was still able to stay on schedule with my training and meals. Friday night I was able to smash the shoulders, yesterday's leg day made everything challenging today, but I was able to rally to get through a great chest and back day.. Once again up on most of my lifts.. The BBCOM Workout tracker had been a great tool this go round!
                        I'm trying to maintain my competitive mindset during this season, but I'm going to try to lighten up on how upset I get if I lose. Nobody likes to lose or be outmatched. As this sport gains popularity, odds of winning shows are worsening... Unfortunately I expect to win every show I enter, that's just the expectation that I have of myself... I'm thankful that I've won more than I've lost right now, but i'm doing my best to enjoy the journey... I'm grateful to lift weights everyday and to go up on stage and drop jaws... this year will be no different... I'm going to give this everything I've got, win or lose, I'll know that it was 110%.... The cards will fall where they are supposed to...

                        • A great day beating up the legs followed with an even better posing session.... Up another 10lbs on my deadlift and I tossed in an extra Ab workout just to inflict a little more pain on my body.. Damn it felt good! Legs were shaking, abs were throbbing and calves were all pumped up....
                          Then four sets of quarter turns... I love practicing posing, it's great to see progress from the previous years... It's progress that keeps me hooked to this sport.. This year is going to be by far my best year yet! Legs, Back, Abs.... As I said, I'm going to let the cards fall where they may as the older I get, the less I feel I have to prove... If anything, I think this will help me mentally.... I've put in the work.... I've made it hurt time and time again, I haven't fudged on my diet and haven't touched a drop of alcohol... And most of all, I practice! Practice makes Progress!

                          • Wednesday... Biceps and Triceps... And a pump so good today that it hurt! And I haven't even tried the White Pump yet... I ended things with a nasty superset (21 gun salute / machine dips) and it was awesome! One of those days when I didn't want to leave the place... but I did have to eat and I'm not going to miss any meals... Crunch time! No craziness... I gotta make everything line up perfectly for the next 5 weeks, then showtime!

                            • Thursday... Weak point training day... Calves and Abs... I'll hardly call it a rest day as I usually try to hit it pretty hard... Mostly due to the fact that my calves are by far my biggest weakness... But I will always say, focus on your weaknesses until they become your strengths! I will keep chipping away at them until they get better... The progress is slow, but it's there and that's all I need... I'm not looking for instant gratification, that would be way too easy... I will earn them just as I have earned everything else... No cheating... just grinding away, day in and day out... Patience! I know, it's a word that gets lost in this industry every now and then, but if you're patient and willing to work your ass of, some great things could happen!

                              • After a amazing thrashing on the shoulders Friday night, I returned to the Iron Palace for a gut wrenching leg workout... There are only so many left and at this point I'm looking for conditioning... Heavy squats to start things off, then a nasty super set of hack squats and lunges... Then two triple drop sets on the leg extension... I felt sick several times throughout the workout, but I'm on the clock and I'm going to be a good company this spring... I'll be going up against several that have beat me in the past... I intend to even things up this spring... 6 weeks!
