  • Today was the last leg day of the Y3T trainer and it was brutal... high volume and I hate high volume, but I got through it!
    I also took my before pic today as I enter my transformation into the spring season... I can't wait to see what's waiting for this kid around the corner... All I can tell you is, he's going to be RIPPED!!

    • Today's workout started out kind of sluggish, but I ended up getting my stride... Lots of drop sets today, definitely not a workout that one would half ass... Not me anyway! I know that every workout between now and May 2nd is going to count!
      I also hit the store and did my first round of contest meal prep... I'm actually kind of excited about it... eating for performance, not for comfort... it's the only way to go! It's how shows are won... This year I will be the more dialed in than ever before and I hope it shows under the lights...

      • Yesterday was my last day of the Y3T trainer... All in all it was a great trainer and I would recommend it to anyone.. I great combination of high reps and drop sets to put a licking on my shoulders.. not to worry, my level of motivation is at an all time high as I enter the 2014 comp season..
        Today I started my Shark Attack Trainer.. Quads, Calves and Abs today... I haven't given my abs any attention for nearly 3 months and I have a feeling I'm going to feel it tomorrow.. Not to mention the fact that my quads are already aching.. All good.. Let's keep this pain train going! Chest and Back tomorrow!

        • Monday, my only rest day this week, I tried my best to let my body heal up and get ready for a grueling week... Chest and Back yesterday was a success and now Hammy's, Calves and Abs tomorrow... I knew this trainer would have it's challenges, I'm just going to have to dig deep and stay on point... I also have my supps in line as well as my nutrition... should be a good run! It's so motivating seeing all these people around me that are on the same grind with the same goals.. It's all about making it to the end!

          • Back at it for Biceps and Triceps today and although it was a very rocky start, I actually finished very strong.... With this trainer, I'm emphasizing a bit more on my triceps as I feel that they are a weaker part of my body... The stresses of everyday life backed with an unforeseen stomach ache really made getting motivated tough today.. My first couple sets felt nearly worthless... I stayed the course however and thought to myself, sitting here and sulking isn't going to help me... I need to dig deep and find IT! I did end up doing just that and at the end of the session, I walked out of the place sweaty, sore and with a feeling of accomplishment... All is good!

            • A great weekend filled with some great lifting sessions... Friday night I slaughtered my traps and delts.. I haven't isolated my traps for nearly 5 months given the trainers I've been on, it was great as every shrug I do, I simply think of how great I want that most muscular pose to look! I also did a little posing on Friday night and realized how lousy my endurance is... Not to worry, it'll be fixed by showtime.

              Saturday I trained Quads, Calves and Abs... It too was nasty... I conducted my training in reverse and it made things a bit more challenging.. The lunges get me every time it seems.. In my opinion, probably one of the best leg exercises out there! At the end of the day everything hurt, especially the mid section... These abs are gonna be razor sharp this spring!

              Today was the last training day before my rest day.. .Chest and Back... Today I left it all in the cage knowing that I would get to hang em up tomorrow... Heavy and hard! Today, I showed the Iron who was the boss! Good lifts all the way around along with a great pump... It's always flattering seeing some of the younger guys in the gym mirin... All in all, a great weekend! I hope everyone else had a weekend equally satisfying.

              • After my off day yesterday, I hit the Hammy's, Calves and Abs for what ended up being an absolute thrashing of my body! Energy levels were screaming, motivation was even better and when all the dust settled, I won! I hope that all of my leg days from here until showtime are exactly like the one I had today...
                Once again, feel free to track my workout and try it out for yourself... I'll gladly entertain any questions... Knock yourself out!

                • The last two days of workouts have been great! I hit arms yesterday followed by Calves and Abs today... Back on the motivation train!
                  I'm really enjoying tracking my workouts on Bodyspace... It measures out your progress from week to week and keeps you updated on your PR's... Definitely worth a shot to anyone that hasn't tried it yet... Meal prep is done and now it's time to gear up for the weekend by prepping for that Friday night war on the shoulders.. Boom!

                  • After a great shoulder day yesterday, I dusted myself off and returned to the iron palace today for the most important day of my training week.. LEGS! I psyched myself out a little bit yesterday as I tweaked my knee slightly as I was walking over to a bench with the 110lb dumbbells. These kinds of things make me paranoid as I know that one wrong move with heavy weights can be the end of my contest season... In this case, I think I got lucky.. I hit the bike a bit longer today and stretched good before starting my lift... the end result was great! I was 20lbs up on my squat vs last week and ending up having a great thrashing on the wheels! I finished things up with some great super sets on the calves and abs, then called it a day... I'm going to start implementing posing drills to my weekly madness as I prepare to hit the stage... Everything is coming together as it should!

                    This is usually the time that I see a lot of folks that were very inspired to make a change this year fall off the wagon... I can't lie, it saddens me to see... I guess it's something that is beyond my understanding... I love looking and feeling good.. To me, it's well worth the sacrifices... I see people return to their old unhealthy ways, eating shit and drinking and I almost want to ask them why... Was it too hard? Did it not feel right? Is the party life that much better? Do you enjoy being fat? The questions can go on and on... I'm not trying to sound harsh, but to me there is nothing more inspiring than seeing someone that is overweight or underweight, take the bull by the horns and make a change... Someone that will jump out of the pack and be different.. look different.. feel different... I love when people hit me up with testimonials on how their lives have changed... On how they view an unhealthy lifestyle as a set back, as the enemy, as a lack of progress...
                    At the end of the day, if you're still trying to make that change, I have nothing but the upmost respect for you and if you have fallen off track, it's not too late to jump back on... Dare to be different!

                    • This weekend went by quick, but without some great lifts! I ending my training week with an awesome Chest and Back workout... Today I felt great! Knee is feeling much better and maybe I was just a little paranoid, but at the end of the day, I'm just glad everything is ok... Once again, up on all of my lifts, even after coming off of my test booster... I know that I'm going to level out at some point, but for me it's not about the numbers, it's about how everything looks under the lights.. Judges won't know how much I can lift.... It's time to get shredded!

                      • Sunday, the last day of training until a get that beloved rest day. This 6 day split is demanding, yet I feel right no par with where I should be physically and mentally. I have missed some days of blogging due to some personal matters, but all is good and I'm back in the saddle! The lifts the last few days have been great and I predict that today will be no different. Chest and Back, a big day and a great way to end the training week. This is the point in the game where I add up how many days each muscle is going to get trained before showtime... I am 11 weeks out.. that seems like a lot, but looking at it from this perspective, I only get to train my chest and my back 11 more times... that doesn't seem like much at all... With that, it's time to buckle down and get some REALLY nasty training days in... the stage it waiting!

                        • Another weekend in the books.. Great lifts and some posing practice all three days and I'm looking forward to a much needed rest day tomorrow.. Up on most of my lifts from last week again and that it just music to my ears as I am already nearly a month into my diet... I am hoping to not only keep the muscle that I have built, but maybe even add some clean L.B.'s... Training is on point, diet is locked in and I can't wait to show of the best "me" yet!

                          • Back at it... Tuesday.. Hamstrings, Calves and Abs... Today when warming up, I didn't like the way my deadlifts were going.. My form was off and I was getting a bit frustrated... After doing few more warmup sets, I then piled on the weight! I ended up hitting a PR on deads for the first time in months.. And I'm dieting!! The body and the mind will never cease to amaze me...
                            Everything is shaping up just the way I want it to... I have a feeling that everything is going to have to be perfect as the competition is going to be stiff this year... Every year it seems to get tougher and tougher... In the end, that's the fun part! It's "you vs you", but that's not always the case, you do have to beat the competition to take the trophy that says #1 on it...

                            • Today I had a great arm workout! I didn't go up on all my lifts, but I was able to time my sets really good and ended up with a great pump... Some veins I hadn't seen for a while came out.. It's crazy how it's always little things like that make the biggest differences.. After my training session, I hit up the aerobics room for some posing... I went through two sets of quarter turns and was toast... I always forget how demanding posing is... but it's probably my favorite part about bodybuilding... it takes lots of practice and if done correctly, can make a world of difference under the lights... Presentation is everything!

                              • Today's leg day was great! I once again slightly exceeded my numbers from last week and went up on all my lifts except one. I know that my lifts between now and showtime are limited, so I'm doing everything I can to stay in the zone and make each rep count. I love training legs! I know that it's the area that I need to improve the most.. I understand what I have to do to be successful on stage and I'm looking forward to showing off my new and improved wheels... Hard work, backed with consistency and the lack of going out and wrecking my body with alcohol should make for a pretty good looking physique... Time will tell!
