Default Opinions on my Newb gains

I started lifting on May 15, 2006 and I'm 21. From 5/15/06 to 5/15/07 I went from 188 16%BF to 218 11%BF. I have nothing to compare this to and was wondering how it related to y'alls experiences. It seems that most people here know their shit and I wanted to know your opinions.

    Thanks,
    Matt

I was stupid and didn't take any pics, and don't own a camera. When I started last summer, I never thought I would keep going. Now I can't imagine ever stopping. All I did was keep track of numbers (Weight, BF, Str., etc.) Guess I've got a good reason to go out and finally get a camera.

Do you guys find that keeping a log (online, specifically) helps keep you motivated? I never thought of doing one except for vanity
