    could someone give me a sample post workout meal?

    protein/carbs

    I get my carbs from apple juice, white bread, honey, or some other simple carb source, then protein from a whey shake.

    That is right after you workout, then around an hour, or 1.5hrs later, get in a lean protein + some carbs, maybe a chicken breast and some brown rice.

        when dieting, I do stuff like brown rice with chicken and a little fat.

        I can't find the study but I remember reading one where it said that low GI carbs can be used for glycogen replenishment... the body can convert any type of carb to glycogen when it needs it. something like that. I might be wrong though..

          Here's what my typical post workout diet regimen is on lifting days:

          immediately post:
          1/2 cup of oats
          1 heaping scoop of whey
          1 tsp glutamine
          1/2 tsp bulk cissus

          1 hour later:
          6 egg whites
          1 whole egg
          1 slice fat free cheese
          2 slices of whole wheat bread
          8-10oz of skim milk
          Fish Oil
          jdouchebag for president
