  • Shoulders and Chest?

Curious if anybody has ever worked out these two body parts same day?

I have tried it in the past and didn't like it. Keep in mind that your shoulders take a beating while training chest already.. I felt as if I were overtraining. I really enjoy the push / pull while training traps and delts on the same day...

Yeah I heard that it feels like your over training. I usually do upright rows and shrugs on chest day, just 3 sets of both. Not heavy though.

You could probably sneak by with that and not be over doing it...

          not i...

you use shoulders for both workouts, i find i get over trained if i do that much shoulder movement close together. My basic split looks like this lately:

          Chest/tri
          Back/bi
          Shoulder/traps/neck
          Lowerbody

it follows two rules i have for myself, 1) give shoulders a break, and 2) never do lowerbody day after back and vice versa.

Why the 2nd) rule? Never train lower body after back day?

I would say it's because your lower back needs a chance to heal up... Your back takes quite a beating when you are training legs, if you are not careful you could easily throw out your back..

I have tried it but it did not go well for me. I guess it did not go well for any one who tried it. And it is advised to do them on two different days.
