  • Today's arm workout was great! Still keeping my reps right between 6 and 10.. My right elbow was a bit tender, but I just hopped back on the Blue Gene.. That stuff has really helped me in the past combat joint pain... I'm gonna need it! this kid has been going pretty heavy lately.. I'm gearing up for an arm workout video here in the near future... Maybe I'll wait a few weeks into "no shave" november so I'm all hardcore looking!

    • Today I kept my promise to myself to absolutely dismantle my quads! I started off doing "Frankenstien Squats", I have never done them before and they were quite challenging.. I actually couldn't exceed 135lbs for 8 to 10 reps.. I followed them with heavy leg press as I got up to 14 plates.. and then I proceeded to utilize the smith machine for my verticle leg press again starting with 6 plates for 20, two sets of 8 plates for 10 and then finished with 10 plates for 8... Finished things off with alternate leg extensions... I am so sore!!! Life is good!!

      • Today's shoulder day was good.. I had to utilize the smith machine for my shrugs as my quads are so sore from yesterday, I didn't want to have to rely on stabilizing myself.. Even with the improv, I managed to get a great workout in! On seated dumbbell press I got 65's for 10 twice, followed by 75's for 8 and then 80's for 8... I also maxed out the reverse peck deck for my final set of 6... I love hitting my delts form different direction and shocking my body... I also have to thank Josh Black for riding out the first part of my workout with me.. I don't usually like training with anyone, but he knows how to bring it!!

        • Sat out today as I'm nursing a hip pointer that came out of nowhere.. Kinda sucks, not exactly sure how I did it but it hurts... I figured I would be smart and take the day off from everything.. I'll be back in there tomorrow and really want to charge up for this friday night video leg day shoot.. should be a good one!

          • Chest and Back training this evening.. went pretty well... Incline dumbbell press went 85's for 10 95's for 10, 100's for 8 and 110's for 8... I only used a spot on the last set so I know I worked pretty hard during the other sets... Maxed out the lat pull down, but that's a given as my back just does work all the time... All in all it was a great day.. The hip didn't bother me as much today, I'm glad I sat out yesterday..

              • Quads and calves today... I'm putting extra calf exercises into my routine for the time being instead of ab exercises as I bulk this winter... 10 plates on the hack squat again, followed by alternate leg press and extensions... I ran the rack on smith machine calf raises then did a super set of seated raises and donkey raises... Damn... Feels good!!

                • I trained arms today and for a change a mixed in quite a few bicep, tricep super sets.. I was refreshing, but at the same time it made me realize how easily winded I get.. Right now there will be no cardio with the exception of the 5 minute warm up on the bike.. this spring all of my cardio training will evolve around wind sprints and the stair master... but for now it's just pushing heavy weights around.. I love "off season"!!

                  • Off day today as I'm making strides to get my original Monday's and Friday's off from the gym.. I'm experimenting with halibut steaks tonight.. Adding some bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, olive oil and garlic... All in the oven to bake... we'll see.. I hope it doesn't turn out bad as the halibut was expensive...

                    • Tonight's workout was just a bit different than usual.. I started out a little sluggish and as I was sitting on the bench, I got to thinking some thoughts that had escaped my memory banks for some time. I thought of this time in High School after our Homecoming dance (the group I was with consisted of me, my hot cheerleader date, 3 other cheerleaders and 3 guys from the football team), everyone wanted to go back to one of the girls houses to go hot tubbing.. I was so terrified of the thought of these hot girls and huge football players seeing my pathetic 140 lb frame shirtless.. Once again being the punchline of a joke, a chance for these guys to make themselves look and feel better about themselves by putting the skinny, wimpy kid down.. I told them I was allergic to chlorine and couldn't get in.. One of the girls was kind enough to pull a hammock up next to the hot tub for me to lay on while everyone else got in.. I had never been so demoralized in my life! I remember lying on that hammock staring at the stars, confidence in the toilet, wondering what I had ever done to deserve this. At that point, I had made a promise to myself that I would no longer make excuses for myself. That I would no longer pity myself. That I would never end up swinging around on a ****ing hammock because of my insecurities.. All of this came back to me tonight and I just about tore the roof off the building! The body is a powerful machine if your mind will allow it to be.. Everyone that works their ass off gets their moment in the sun.. I will not stop until I make it to the top.. I have found my stride... Let do this!!

                      • Legs got smashed tonight! 10 Plates on the hack squat for 6 deep reps, north and south! Lifts have been great and my strength is up.. I will have to attribute these newly founds gains to the Blue Growth.. It knocks me out at night allowing me to get that deep, much needed rest.. I feel like a million bucks when I wake up and back to the iron I go! I also had a mean super set on the calves this evening.. Alternate single leg press followed by some heavy extensions... I can't wait to show them off this spring.. And yes.. a video is still on the way!!

                        • Traps and Delts... Shrugs on the smith machine to start, followed by dumbbell shrugs and then burnouts on cables... Heavy unassisted dumbbell shoulder press, extensions, upright rows and the dirty thirty... My shoulders are pretty toasty right now! Once again, I feel that the delts are the first thing the judges see under the lights... get em huge and make that first impression the right impression!

                          • Arm day today... Coming off a great rest day and my strength was through the roof today.. I was up about 10lbs on just about every lift.. 4 wheels on the hammer strength preacher curl for 6 reps... I know this kid is gonna be sore tomorrow.. but I have hammy's and calves tomorrow.. no effing around this weekend!

                              • I got in to the gym a little later than I wanted to, but better late than never i guess.. I throughly enjoyed my hamstring and calf workout.. I try to make those days count considering my hammy's and calves are my two weakest areas.. I usually always try to find an extra gear on these days.. I started with dead lifts (of course), followed by alternate leg curls and then leg press with very high foot placement on the platform, I really felt a good burn on the ol hammy's.. the usual nastyness on the calves today... It was late, but it was good!
