    Default Question regarding dumbell rows

Mainly for Kane, as he's doing it in the video, but is there any difference/benefit you see from doing them standing off the bench like in this video:
    http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/clabs/mag.html

rather then on a bench like this:

    ??

Just curious. I may try them out as you're doing them in the video to see for myself, but I was just wondering if you noticed any difference.

    Thanks.

not using a bench forces your body to work as a structure, which is a huge benefit.

it is a similiar concept with regards to a leg press vs squats, or standing vs seated shoulder presses ..

it will thus require more muscles to be involved, even if they are held in an isometric contraction rather than causing any of the eccentric/concentric movement of the actual rowing movement

I personally never put more than the opposing hand (assuming 1 arm row) onto a bench

Everything you said makes sense ha ha. Forgot I posted this a few days ago. Thanks for the response. I think I'm going to give them a shot with my next back workout.

toss in face pulls to that combo for the ultimate back attack.. you may also notice improved shoulder health & functioning

but since noone usually cares about shoulder health or back training, this will all correlate to an increased bench press (assuming you know how to bench correctly)

The increased upper back strength will also enhance your deadlift/pulling strength, but chances are noone will care about that either..
