has anyone gotten the flu shot yet? I just got mine last night and my left shoulder is so sore now.

I get them every year since I get it for free.

The flu vaccine (shot) is inactivated virus so it cannot reproduce in your cells . . . so ya can't get the flu from a flu shot. It is cultured in egg so if you have egg allergies beware. Some people feel a little off as their immune system mounts a response to the antigen in the vaccine.
The intranasal flu vaccine is a live attenuated version . . . aka a weakened flu virus . . . so if you are immuno compromised you could get sick

The vaccine is interesting b/c the CDC guesses which strains of the flu will be prevalent that year. If they guess wrong then the vaccine will do you no good

exactly. a non-activated intranasal one will be out soon. galaxo bought the company who is producing it.

haha. the good part about the nasal one is that they will be able to reach those who cant afford to see a doctor or cant reach one due to distance or other circumstances.
