Dark Line Around Waist (Skin Question)

I have a dark line around my waist that almost looks like a tan even though my waist is never exposed to sun. It’s where the waistband goes around my waist so I guess it’s the result of having been overweight and the tightness around my waist. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember but since I've been trying to get in shape and cut I'ved been more concerned with doing something about it. Is there anything I could do to get rid of this?

looks like a skin fold.. that's where the skin bends so many times.. It leaves a different texture than the other skin around it...




or I could be completely off base

One possibility is that it is due to your clothes (underwear/boxers) . . . is it where your underwear/boxers waist would usually sit? I have heard that the constant pressure from the elastic bands can cause a dermatoses resulting in hyperpigmentation
If you had too little cortisol (due to an endocrine problem) you could also get a similar response due to the waistband pressure
It could be a skin fold as Mr. Aries said
Or it could mean nothing at all . . . That's all I could come up with off the top of my head
How long have you had this? any change in how you feel? more/less tired, cold/hot, weird heart rate? any other things out of the ordinary?

my vote, when i was heavier i had a line like that that seperated my belly from the pecs (breasts)
