  • How rich we really are.

I took a little time to reflect on my life. Thought of the could ofs, would ofs, and what ifs and came to the conclusion that I am richer than I thought. No this is not about monetary value but the things, IMO, that makes one a rich person. I am blessed with a good job, loving wife and 3 adorable children. I have food on my table. I have an occasional CL supply. My wife and children are healthy and happy. My oldest daughter recently won the science fair for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades last school year. She is a 4th grader btw and she maintained her honor roll status and rec. the academic presedential award all while cont. to practice her gymnastics 14 hrs a week. At first I was totally against my wife staying home with our 2nd child, who is now 5yrs and is the only boy, god help him with his sisters. But now, I have come to the conclusion that it is all in gods hands and he has her were he wants her. She is doing a wonderfull job with our children btw. I may not have that Benz or Beamer everyone wants but who cares. I have riches beyond monetary value. Just wanted to share my reflections on life and encourage all who thinks they need that monetary status to reflect on their life and take a deep look inside to see how rich you really are. Just wanted to share a little so god bless you and your family.

good post. you should read the winners manual by OSU coach jim tressel, i bet you (and most on the forums) would enjoy it

Theres one section on success which def. resonates with your words:

its actuall from a previous book by John Wooden (UCLA basketball coach - They call me coach title)

defnintion of success : "Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming"

it's not the fancy cars, the CEO job, the excess amount of $ you have, or even championships you win -- it's the inner feeling of being satisified and knowing you put your all into whatever it is you wanted

Having kids is a wonderful thing -- and im nowhere near that point in my life yet at 23 going on 24... not til next may when i finish my masters at least but I see the joy parents get, and if you think about it, there is not much of a greater thing you can do with your life beyond bringing another life into the world and raising them to succeded as well; its arguably the one thing humans were made to do, procreate. wayyy back in the day, they didnt have much, all they had was friends, family, and the earth.. thats what lifes all about, not cars watches money all that materialistic stuff, it's about living and loving to live

      so live it up

An after thought about the kiddo's was everytime I get home, they here the garage door opening and I am met by big hugs from my 2 oldest kids. That is one of the best feeling in the world.

Also, watch out for the graduation celebration. That is how my first daughter started her journey. If ya get my drift.

I am rich because I have family to be with, friends that I can run to, pleasure in life and most importantly, I am rich because I have a big GOD!

Money never made a man happy yet, nor will it. There is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more a man has, the more he wants. Instead of its filling a vacuum, it makes one.

              - Ben Franklin

"Happiness is never the completion - the getting. Happiness comes from the work, the endeavor, the pursuit of a goal, the giving!"

              - JT
