  • Difference between AM and PM lifting.

Is it just me or does anyone else notice a drop in the amount of weight you can lift between the AM and PM work out? Example yesterday on shoulders I had to have help with my final 2 reps on Overhead BB press were as in the AM I was able to not need a spotter. What do ya think and any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Do or do not. There is no try!

well its a known fact that test lvs i believe are higher in morning

afternoon is best i belive for something though.. thus why bodybuilders sometimes workout early am and then afternoon after the down time periord where the sun goes down and makes us sleepy

as you can see im really scientific and a great speller

Obviously most people have higher levels of glucose in the muscles and they're more fully rested from a nights sleep. PM you've used the muscles more throughout the day and your levels will generally be lower. However, it's a matter of personal biology too. Some people have it more of a mindset that afternoon workouts are better for them. I think John Lee has afternoon workouts and look at him. Might be a time issue however. Personally for me, I feel better throughout the day if I hit the AM instead of PM.

Most studies point to PM workouts as your body temp is higher in the afternoon and strength peaks later in the day. However it is what works best for you adn when you will more likely make it to the gym consistantly.

ok just to reask since i dont care about asking dump or several questoins since i wanna learn and im not a retard

working out really early = best for muscle building in reguard to body's ability to grow?

meanwhile afternoon = heat and strength = more weights moved = possible more muscle due to working out harder?

does that make sense.. should i really test a few early morning workouts if it truely helps me grow im all for it.. i have that option to workout before work or after.. thanks for any input

AM I think is better from a weight loss perspective as the muscles won't have much in the way of glucose stored and will go to breaking down fat sooner. Key word, THINK. I could be wrong, have been before.

I have a desk job. After coming home, shitting and dosing/prepping my supps I'm off to the gym.

When I lift on the weekends or call in sick, I work out in the morning and my strength really suffers. It's been said that you'll grow more from AM workouts with higher test levels, but temperature, glycogen stores and other factors make PM workouts a little easier strength wise.

I wish I had the opportunity to work out in the mornings though. I work too early.

So then PM seems better for strength, AM better for weight loss when referring to glyco stores....

think u missed a few points but yea

more test in morning means more growth too maybe. but if your lifting stronger in evening doesnt that = more growth HUMM.. anyways

i used to do 2-3hours cardio in college on crew team then eat huge ass breakfasts for 2.5 years.. never had any fat on me. but i also had on most days a second workout and i mean i ate everything on those 3 meals at college and took home tons of goodies for inbtw meals hehe

I always feel weaker in the mornings, I need a few meals and a few hours to wake up, but unfortunately I can't always get to the gym smack bang in the middle of the day.

I may be strange but i like to lift either mid-morning or late at night. Could involve caeer choice as well. I cant see lifting at 8 PM after class but 11 PM after Waiting Tables during a dinner rush is amazing...
