I'm not going to recomend one or the other but I believe, generally, Plasma's are cheaper but Lcd's last longer

yeah, she doesnt like that the room needs to be dark and the bulbs are expensive to replace.

the problem with plasmas is that if one pixel goes out on the screen, then the entire screen is shot .... with LCD's if one pixel goes, the rest of the screen still displays the image ... just like when a pixel goes out on your laptop and you see those tiny red or white dots ... same thing

im not fond of american brands for electronics or cars. the plasma is better than lcd in your opinion?

but i think i'm about to switch to either a 52" DLP HDTV or a 57" projection Sony HDTV.

the sony sux at side angles but hey, it's 57"

no.. LCDs are better.. they just dont' make them as big as what i want yet for the price i can get it for... a typical thin LCD is like 32".. a typical plasma is 42" for the same price..


plasmas burn out after like 4 years.. lcds you can just replace the bulb and keep going.

the projection ones are enromous, they are a pain to move with and you cant hang them, they take floorspace.
